Human Resources
Creating and Maintaining a Safe,
Supportive Work Environment
Supporting the people who do the work
Our Human Resources team works across every program to help create a workplace where expectations are clear, communication is consistent, and employees can do their work safely and effectively.

We help maintain a workplace that is safe, respectful, and centered on the well-being of both our staff and the individuals we serve. From hiring and onboarding to day-to-day support and professional development, our role is to make sure staff have what they need to succeed.
Our goal is to build a strong, stable work environment that supports the people carrying out PYHIT’s mission, guided by our core values of compassion, accountability, and respect for every person.
About Working Here
Working at PYHIT means being part of a team that shows up for each other as much as we do for the people we serve.
The work can be challenging, but staff are supported, expectations are clear, and collaboration is part of the day-to-day. Across programs, there is a shared focus on respect, accountability, and making sure no one is left to handle difficult situations alone.
People here take pride in what they do. There is a strong sense of purpose, and a recognition that the work matters, both for the individuals we serve and for the communities we support.
What it's Like to Work at PYHIT
Working at PYHIT means being part of a team focused on recovery, support, housing, treatment, and community services across New York. The work can be challenging, but it is also meaningful, collaborative, and rooted in helping people rebuild their lives. Every program and role contributes to the larger mission of supporting the individuals and communities we serve.

But don't take our word for it...
"Working here isn't just a job for me; it’s a calling. Witnessing my mother’s struggle with addiction and her current journey in early recovery is what fuels my passion for this work every single day. That personal history drove me to become a CASAC-T, and I am so proud to be completing all of my clinical hours right here with this company to officially transition to a CASAC II this June.

I love what I do, and I am deeply grateful for our amazing leadership and supervisors; their mentorship has been the backbone of my professional growth. Even with the intensity of this field, the work-life balance here has allowed me to thrive and prepare to start my MSW at Binghamton University this August. I wake up every day grateful to work in an environment that supports my journey as I help others find their own path to healing."

"Work, to me, is more than just completing tasks, it's about purpose, growth and showing up with integrity even on the hard days. My experience at PYHIT has taught me a lot about resilience and responsibility. There have been challenges, but each one has pushed me to grow in ways I didn't expect. I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had here, the people that I've worked with and the lessons that have shaped me both professionally and personally, It's a place that has stretched me, strengthened me and reminded me of what I'm capable of. I really enjoy working here."
